I've received my tutor's report on assignment 4. Here's the whole report which is very gratifying as I put a lot of thought into the assignment.
Overall
Comments
Assignment three focused on Monochrome, where you were asked to choose suitable
colour images from a theme to convert to black and white format,
bringing out qualities of form, tonal ranges of contrast and texture.
You were also asked to express an account of why you chose a
particular subject and comment on how you think you succeeded. This
you successfully completed.
Assignment
four
has
given
you
an
opportunity
to
develop
your
creative
thinking
with
design
and
manipulation
techniques.
Feedback
on
assignment
You
have
produced
a
very
clear
brief
for
the
project
following
an
inspirational
idea
and
carried
out
significant
research
of
similar
magazine
covers
that
gave
some
background
to
your
ideas.
Your
documentation
shows
a
step-by-step
explanation
of
the
creation
of
the
magazine
cover
with
clear
instructions
of
your
Photoshop
techniques
used
in
alteration
and
manipulation
of
the
chosen
image.
You
have
further
expanded
your
skills
by
adding
text
and
colour
that
is
quite
striking
and
would
I
am
sure
attract
teenagers
looking
for
an
interesting
magazine
with
topical
content.
Yellow,
red
and
black
are
all
contrasting
colours
and
analysing
the
psychology
of
colours
where
red
is
the
most
emotionally
intense
colour,
signifies
danger
and
is
also
the
colour
of
love.
Red
also
is
one
of
the
most
successful
colours
used
by
Manufacturers
of
food,
drinks
and
cosmetics,
etc.
Yellow
is
known
as
cheerful
and
sunny. Black
is
authority
and
power
and
also
implies
submission.
This
then
would
suit
the
style
and
design
you
have
chosen.
Your
documentation
clearly
points
out
the
stages
of
development
of
the
final
image
with
detailed
changes
in
the
text
style,
the
added
banner
and
carefully
chosen
alteration
to
the
title
of
the
banner
that
simply
lifts
the
impact
of
the
image.
I
think
it
is
important
that
you
have
shown
screen
shots
of
the
various
manipulation
stages
in
the
assignment.
You
clearly
enjoyed
working
on
this
assignment
and
have
produced
a
commendable
product
that
you
can
be
proud
of.
You
explored
the
areas
of
adjustment
and
manipulation
and
honed
in
on
your
design
skills
in
successfully
applying
this
to
the
project
in
hand.
To
the
untrained
eye,
the
level
of
ethical
justification
to
changes
of
the
original
image
is
very
pleasing
and
would
not
necessarily
cause
offence
to
the
model.
Well-done
Jennifer!
